Job Entry at Vector - in Chemnitz

On May 1st, the acquisition of BASELABS, a Chemnitz-based software specialist for sensor data fusion, has given us an additional Vector nucleus for embedded software. Students had noticeably great interest in the initial on-site events such as the TUCconnect with excursion to the location and the IT talent forum.

The new location is expected to continue growing the current, roughly 50 employees to a team size of approx 150. There are very good opportunities to do so in Chemnitz, particularly due to the direct proximity to the campus of the technical university with a strong focus on MINT degree programs and specialized degree programs such as Automotive Computer Science, Automotive Software Engineering, and Embedded Systems.

At the TUCconnect, Vector presented itself for the first time at a career trade fair in Chemnitz. We had a lot of conversations with interested students about entry options.

At the excursion that took place alongside the event, our developers Katharina and Felix provided a first-hand insight into their work at Vector and the tasks of embedded systems software developers. Using an example project from a typical customer, there was a hands-on demonstration of what the different Vector tools for embedded software are used for. During the process, they demonstrated how the tools are intertwined along the AUTOSAR development process. From developing the software components to configuring the base software and even simulating an ECU, the functionality of individual tools was explained.

At the online IT talent forum, students and professionals immersed themselves in challenging work topics in developing adaptive AUTOSAR software modules for ECUs in vehicles. Nowadays, Vector software can be found in 9 out of 10 vehicles on the road. In his presentation, Johannes provided insight into how one as a developer can help to continuously improve the software products, where they work on mutual solutions as a team.
