Interview Questions
We conduct one or two interviews depending on the position and department. The initial interview usually takes the form of a video interview with Microsoft Teams lasting approximately one hour. So that you can get a precise picture of Vector, the first interview is often followed by a second interview, which usually takes place on site or, if necessary, as a video interview. Through a work sample, a tour of the potential workplace or an exchange with potential colleagues, we both get a good feel for whether the requirements of the job and your knowledge are compatible. This interview usually lasts around two hours. The travel costs you incur in this context will of course be reimbursed. Please also take a look at the next steps in the application process.
Look carefully at the job advertisement and think about how your experience and skills match the requirements. Take your time to go through your application documents again and think about where we might want to know more. Prepare concrete examples that show how you have mastered certain tasks in the past. Take the opportunity to ask questions during the interview. Think about what you want to know in advance.
You will need an internet-enabled device. You will receive the MS Teams link with which you can dial into the meeting from us in advance by email. You do not need to create an MS Teams account for this.
Whether jeans or a jacket/blazer - what counts for us is who you are, not what you wear. "Business casual" is a solid guideline, but feel free to dress in a way that suits you.
It's important to us to be transparent about feedback and when you can expect it. We always tell you directly during the interviews by when we will get back to you with feedback.
We are happy to cover the travel costs for your interview at Vector at the usual levels, i.e., second class train journeys and the appropriate mileage allowance for car journeys. We will reimburse accommodation or flight costs by arrangement.
