What Makes Vector a (Kununu) Top Company? A Look Behind the Scenes With Luisa and Marco.
Vector is among the top 5% of employers – and that's not just us saying it, it’s our employees! 🎉 Thanks to their honest reviews, Vector has once again been recognized as a Kununu Top Company for 2025. We far exceed the industry average, particularly when it comes to salary and benefits, working conditions, environmental awareness, career development, and communication. Some things that make us especially proud: 95% of our colleagues would recommend Vector as an employer.
But instead of just talking about statistics, we let those who really know have their say: our colleagues! Our social media video project featured some of our colleagues explaining why Vector is so special for them. But we wanted to delve deeper: What makes the working atmosphere so unique? What does team spirit look like in practice? And what values are particularly important to our employees?
We asked Luisa, Business Development Engineer, and Marco, Senior Manager Embedded Software Development, to tell us about their work at Vector. Here is what they told us:

What surprised you the most when you started working at Vector nine years ago?
Marco: When I started at Vector, I thought that the experience I had gained in Germany and Italy had prepared me well for what awaited me at a new company. But my expectations were met and then some: The warm welcome from my colleagues, the structured induction and, above all, my mentor, who was really there for me – all of this made my start here special. It was love at first sight – even though the company cafeteria didn't even exist back then! 😉
And how were things for you, Luisa, when you started two years ago?
Luisa: The atmosphere at Vector is in a league of its own. I was particularly impressed by the ‘open doors’ policy, where literally every door is always open. It doesn’t matter what the issue is, you can always approach your colleagues and you’ll always find a sympathetic ear.
Can you tell us about a time where you felt the team spirit particularly strongly?
Luisa: At Vector, team spirit is everywhere. You’ll see it in challenging projects, where good collaboration is essential, as well as at staff events, where colleagues feel more like friends.

How does Vector help you to balance your professional and private responsibilities?
Marco: Above all through flexibility. Even when projects heat up and you really have to press ahead, flexibility remains a priority at Vector. There’s a great deal of trust in the employees – and employees don’t take liberties. I love my work and I love spending time with my family. Thanks to work from home and flexi time, I can easily manage the two. I often use the afternoons to spend time with my family, if there are no meetings scheduled, and continue working without any distractions in the evenings once my children are in bed.
What makes Vector different from other employers in your opinion?
Marco: Of course, there are the hard facts: a first-class company cafeteria, numerous benefits and real highlights such as the gym in Stuttgart or the roller slide in Karlsruhe. As an Italian, I really enjoy an espresso (or more!) from the barista bar. But for me, it’s the ‘Vector Spirit’ that makes the difference more than anything else. It’s a spirit characterized by trust, flexibility, ambition, excellence and the ‘Vectorians’ themselves. I have never experienced anything quite like it at any other company.
If you had to describe Vector in three words, what would they be?
Luisa: Professional, modern, appreciative.
