21.1 Kilometers at the Stuttgart Race
“The starting line is here, and the finish line is over there. And you need to race to it.” What sounds simple resulted in sweat and overworked muscles during the half-marathon race. A tremendous, happy feeling of accomplishment overtakes you as soon as that finisher’s medallion is placed around your neck, as confirmed by the 33 Vector employees who tackled the 21.0975 kilometers at the Stuttgart race on May 21, 2023. It included beginners who participated in their first half-marathon and professionals who had a lot of marathon miles under their belt.
After taking a group photo with the sparkling brand-new Vector race T-shirt, things got started at 9:00 a.m. under summer temperatures and bright sunshine. The route first led towards Untertürkheim, then to Bad Cannstatt along the Neckar river and Lake Max-Eyth-See, through Mühlhausen then via Münster again and back to Merdecesstraße where the finish line awaited. A co-worker confided in his feet’s natural shock-absorbing and spring functions and finished the sporting event running barefoot.
Despite rising temperatures, everyone gave it their best shot and happily reached the finish line satisfied. After the race, drinks, fruit, Hefezopf (yeast bread) and the prepared Swabian raviolis delivered energizing refreshment. Afterwards, the morning was rounded off with a cozy get-together on a neighboring meadow.
As summed up by the participants: It was a wonderful event and we will definitely be there again next time. We would like to sincerely thank company management for covering the starting fees.

Our running and cycling achievements keep on coming!
At various company runs, 124 colleagues have been busy racking up the kilometers. The routes may have been a little shorter (5 to 7 km, 3.1 to 4.3 miles), but the fun factor was as big as ever, with the main focus being on enjoying the experience together, with:
- 28 Vectorians in Karlsruhe
- 43 entering the race in Regensburg and 15 in Munich
- 53 working up a sweat, and cooling down with refreshing drinks, in Stuttgart again.
Thirty Vector employees covered routes between 90 and 300 kilometers in the saddle at the Alb-Extrem Cycling Marathon. With support from three external drivers and outstanding performances from two colleagues who each covered 300 km, the Vector Team achieved a total distance of 5,360 km! The team took thirteenth place overall, and celebrated with a well-deserved beer.
The feedback from all the events? Everyone had a blast!
