Vector Tech Playground: Insights & Innovations
Over 50 students attending the “Vector Tech Playground” in April and May walked away with in-depth practical insights. MatchUp day took place on April 28th in Stuttgart and provided exciting presentations, interesting exhibits, a delicious dinner, and plenty of networking.
Franzi served as the easy-going host for the participants through the afternoon and into the evening. The event began with a greeting by our Managing Director Thomas and the presentation of Gründermotor, with which the program was carried out. Afterwards, we jumped right into technological matters: In her presentation, Desiree introduced a project relating to software-defined vehicles, which focused on outsourcing vehicle functions to a backend and on remote access. Anna-Lena and Peter jointly highlighted the charging infrastructure for electromobility. Afterwards, the participants went mobile as part of a tour that took them from theory to tangible practice. Test and measurement systems for electric vehicles, an electrocardiogram embedded in a simulated environment, an autonomously driving model automobile, and the innovation challenges were part of an expo where the University of Stuttgart’s Green Team also presented their Formula Student vehicle.
To top things off, Emma, Torben and Anna-Lena talked about joining Vector as a working student, trainee, and graduate. Afterwards, we finished it off with dinner and networking at the cafeteria.
Innovation Challenge, “Test and Simulation Environment for MQTT Devices”
Some participants did not get enough, and in May – with the help of startup and technology experts – developed a market-appropriate solution over three days, coded the first version of their product, and presented it to a jury on Pitch Day. The winning team was delighted with the 1,500 euro prize money, and the second-place team received 1,000 euros. The jury was fascinated by what the students had programmed in such a short time.
