There’s No Place Like Home, or Vector at the Home Office
To support measures for slowing the spread of the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and the COVID-19 illness, Vector employees have been working entirely at home since March 16. Mobile working was introduced at Vector long before the pandemic, and different models provide flexibility and ensure personal freedom. We also consider the possibility of mobile work to be an important component of effective work.
"Flexible place of work" model:
Sometimes you need to have a repair or maintenance done at your home, but you don’t know exactly when the service person will be there. Sometimes you need a quiet “thinking day” to break through a work issue conceptually. To expand their freedom in terms of time, employees can work up to 20% of their regular monthly hours remotely at a location of their choosing.
"Flexible place of work +" model:
There may be phases of life which demand more flexibility in order to maintain balance. In special situations like childcare as a new parent when starting a family or when caring for relatives, employees can work up to 60% of their hours remotely.
Given the plethora of working options utilized in many different ways, it’s no wonder that moving all our employees around the globe to a home office was smooth and hassle-free. VPNs, Skype and many other crucial services enable colleagues at home to stay well connected to one another.
