Learning in an Environment with Feel-Good Factor
vGrow – the unusual name says it all: the new Vector training center vGrow has been designed in line with the latest research into creativity and learning, and features 360 square meters of flexibly configurable rooms, state-of-the-art technology as well as playful design elements. The new premises at the company’s headquarters in Stuttgart-Weilimdorf further reinforce the high value placed on tailored employee development.
Promoting and expanding the professional, methodological, and personal skills of its 2,800 employees in Germany is one of Vector Informatik’s key success factors. Just as the project was completed in 2020, the Covid pandemic struck and caused a long hiatus. But the center is now in use for expanding skills and deepening knowledge. More than 200 training sessions are set to take place at vGrow each year. Training courses on the latest software development methods, IT project management and advanced programming languages are in particularly high demand among employees. There will also be seminars and workshops on management development as well as more classic communication and personal development sessions – all in line with the company’s approach: “grow together and keep learning”.
Green oasis and yellow tentacles
The center’s special interior design, with lots of plants and organic shapes on the walls and furniture, helps training participants to detach themselves from their daily work routines and to engage with something new. Developed by Heller Designstudio, the concept ensures that entrenched mindsets and thinking patterns are discarded thanks to the different nature of the provided spaces. vGrow has already been named “Best Workspace of the Month” by the independent judging panel of Best Workspaces, an international architecture award for smart working environments. The interior design and architecture magazine Frame has also shown enthusiasm for the project’s implementation.

Employee Development Ensures Qualifications and Quality
Vector has placed a very high strategic value on employee and organizational development since the company was founded. Training and coaching are an integral part of corporate development and human resources management. They are made explicitly available to all employees and are deliberately not used as employee-specific incentives.
In our dynamic business arena, new technologies and working methods are always in demand. Diverse employee development measures help us to progress professionally, personally, and in terms of teamwork.
As part of annual appraisal meetings, employees discuss tasks and competencies with their managers and define future development opportunities. It has become clear that in many areas in-house training tailored to our individual requirements is significantly more efficient and targeted than external training. And of course, this also increases the motivation and satisfaction of those working at Vector.
